HOLY ROSARY TOURNAMENT

Both our 6th grade boys basketball teams are entered into the Holy Rosary Tournament.  This tournament is packed with the highest quality of competition and will be a great test for our 6th graders.  Schedules are below, our 6th graders would love your support at the games!

St. Matthew Blue (2-1 tournament record)

Sunday, 2/22 Vs. Holy Rosary Blue @ 3:00pm

WIN!  Blue overcame a sluggish 2nd quarter and came away with a win vs. a quality opponent, a great start to the tournament!

Wednesday, 2/25 Vs. St. Edwards @ 7:00pm

WIN!  A great win over a quality opponent in St. Edwards.  St. Matts Blue is now 2-0 in their tournament run.

Saturday, 2/28 Vs. St. Sebastians @ 4:00pm

St. Matthew Blue suffered their first loss of the tournament against St. Sebastians.  St. Sebastians is a very good team that we will be targeting for the next few years.

Wednesday, 3/4 @ 5:00pm

St. Matthew Blue enters the championship round with a game on Wednesday, 3/4 at 5:00.  This is a single elimination bracket and will need a win to move on!

St. Matthew Gold (1-2 tournament record)

Sunday, 2/22 Vs. St. Joseph's @ 5:00pm

Gold could not hold off a serious 4th quarter onslaught of outside shooting by St. Josephs and they fell by a 4 point deficit.  Despite the loss, the team played well and will be back with a strong showing Thursday.

Thursday, 2/26 Vs. St. Mark's @ 7:00pm

St. Matthew Gold never trailed by more than 6 points in this game, and ended up defeated by 4.  While the scoreboard shows a loss, St. Matts seemed to be the better team this night just having an off night.  They should rebound for their last game Vs. Holy Rosary.

Saturday, 2/28 Vs. Holy Rosary Gold @ 6:00pm

WIN!  And rebound they did!  St. Matthew Gold, despite solid play all tournament long, earned their first victory in pool play of this tournament with a win over Holy Rosary Gold.
